So a long time ago I played with editing a scene from the show but never uploaded it anywhere on the web for whatever reason. Particularly, the panty shot in "Ill-Suited". I posted a shorter version of it on 4chan without audio, but uploaded the full edit with audio on rule34.xxx. I actually tried uploading it here but it shrunk the video and murdered the quality.

DeleteLooking back, I'm kind of surprised a lot of stuff made it through on TV, even with the more tame stuff. Just Kim acting seductive in her black dress or getting into a mudfight with Shego probably wouldn't fly today.

ReplyDeleteThere’s also when shego chases her in the opening and a few other moments said on the wiki lol. And there’s some debate on if shes wearing cheer things or regular pants this seems kind of on purpose though cause of how it happens lol
ReplyDeleteWhat are your thoughts on this moment or that they did this? Do you think it’s bad or too much for this kind of show or is it supposed to be a snuck in adult joke or fan service? It’s odd what they decide is allowed or not cause this doesn’t happen a lot. Young justice actually has a similar one with Cheshire but more obvious. Also how did you do this? Is she still wearing something. Is there other versions or would you mess around with it or other scenes? Sorry if a lot of questions just this is cool and don’t see many like it.

DeleteBack when the show originally aired, it wasn't exactly uncommon for cartoons, even those aimed at kids, to get away with sneaking in adult jokes or mild fanservice. For instance, Kim's black dress, or Ty Lee in Avatar wearing a bikini showing cleavage. Older animated films aimed at general audiences were filled with them, and people tend to get curious regardless if they find the character remotely attractive. The culture was a lot different and didn't shy away from saying "these characters are actually kind of hot." Younger me definitely enjoyed it, older me would be a bit more skeptical depending on how it's handled.
So I simply took screenshots of the frames where Kim's gym shorts were showing and edited them in Photoshop, then did some video editing to replace the frames with my own. She's still wearing something but it doesn't cover up as much. I only did this one and don't intend to do more. Mainly because this one gained the attention of people who have m massive obsession for underskirt shots and wouldn't stop bothering me about it.
